No Man's Land
Richard’s first full length play, No Man’s Land is a drama set in 1885 on the outskirts of San Jose, California, in which a Mexican-American family fights– both in and out of the courtroom– to not only protect their home from encroaching development, but to be understood, by the law and by each other, in their identities. Described as “bursting with life, with ideas, with hope even as it exposes hard truths,” No Man’s Land combines Richard’s law school education with his ear for witty, hyper-real dialogue honed through years of comedy writing and performing; the play is actively seeking staged readings and workshops.
